When I first saw the release of this collection, I wasn’t that excited for it. But after seeing so many beautiful eye looks using the palette I decided to get it on a whim! I also bought one liquid lipstick from the collection, since I already know I like the Dose of Colors formula. The collection also has 2 highlighters, which I didn’t buy.
I purchased the eyeshadow palette for £30. Looking back, it’s actually quite pricey for a palette since it only has 6 shades and because there are only 2 mattes, it would be difficult to create a variety of looks. However, this packaging is just so beautiful, I LOVE the palm print and the mirror is a nice size.
Overall I like the combination of shades apart from the shade Poquito Mas, a pinky-pearl colour which I feel seems a bit out of place with the other shades which are more warm.
Here are swatches of all the shades. My favourite shade is Palma (of course), a really glittery teal. The shimmer shades in this palette are best used with a wet brush, because I found them to have a bit of fall-out when used dry.
This is the eye look I created using the palette. The matte shades, ‘Wanderlust’ and ‘Loungy’ are pigmented, but I found them to become muddy when I blended them together. The black shade, ‘Finders Keepers’ is very pigmented, so I’d recommend using only a little bit, as it was a little difficult to blend as well.
This is the full look including the liquid lipstick in the shade ‘Aesthetic’, which I bought for £16. Sorry I don’t have a swatch photo of it, but its a really nice terracotta/brick shade. I’ve tried the Dose of Colors lipstick formula before, and find it very comfortable and long wearing. This shade is no exception.
Overall, I don’t find this palette to be a necessity since it is a little pricey for only 6 shades, plus I don’t feel the quality is worth that price. I did have some trouble blending the matte shades are there is a lot of glitter fall-out with the metallic shades. I do really like the liquid lipstick and have been wearing it quite often, especially since it’s now autumn!
Have you bought this eyeshadow palette? What do you think of the collection?
