I was bored and decided to play around with my latest eyeshadow purchase, the Dose of Colors Blushed Berries palette. Dose of Colors have 4 colour-themed eyeshadow palettes (Baked Browns, Marvelous Mauves, Sassy Siennas and Blushing Berries) which I have always wanted to try, especially since I’ve read and heard that they are really good quality. I chose the Blushing Berries one as I’ve been really into these kinds of colours lately.
The shades from Top to Bottom: Berry Chic, Rose Berry, Berry Pop, Mixed Berries and Berry Black.
As you can see, the eyeshadows are very pigmented. One thing I would note, is that they look a little different from the photos shown on the website. On the dose of colors website the colours look a little deeper and cool-toned, but I actually think they are quite warm-toned in real life.
On the eye, they worked really well and blended like a dream! I am really impressed with the quality of these shadows, considering that they are talc-free as well.
I wore these shadows to a party the other night and got a lot of compliments so I decided to recreate that look, as well as a more dramatic and *extra* look too.
For this, I used Berry Chic and Rose Berry in the crease, and Berry Pop to deepen the outer V. On the lid I used ‘Kitty Kat’ from the Anastasia Beverley Hills X Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit (you can read my review on it here). I used Steve Laurent liquid Eyeliner for the wing, and ‘Forever Lit’ from the ABH palette in the inner corner. For the lips I wore the Glam X Cosmetics liquid lipstick in ‘Chestnut’ (review on it here) with some more highlighter on top of that!
This is a ‘lighter’ look for events you want to look a little more fresh-faced, but you could probably also pull it off as an everyday look too (if you don’t mind being drenched in highlighter like I do!).
For this glam cut-crease I used Berry Chic, Rose Berry and Berry Pop in the crease. I used Mixed Berries to deepen the outer V as well as on the lash line with Berry Black. I used the MAC Cosmetics Soft Ochre paint pot to carve out the crease, and the Urban Decay Heavy Metals Glitter Liner in ‘Space Cowboy’. I wore the Glam X Cosmetics lashes in ‘Gretchen’. On the lips I thought it would be appropriate to wear the Dose of Colors liquid lipstick in ‘Berry Me’.
This was my first attempt at a cut-crease and I’m really happy with the way it came out!!
What are your thoughts on the Dose of Colors Eyeshadow palettes? Have you tried any? Feedback on my looks are much-appreciated 🙂
