Jeffree Star (whether you like him or not) makes some goooood stuff. I am a massive fan of his liquid lipsticks, but before this, I’ve never tried his highlighters or ‘skin frosts’, despite hearing mixed reviews. When I heard he was bringing out two highlighter palettes, I thought this would be a good opportunity to try a few out for the first time.
He released two highlighter palettes- 24 Karat and Platinum Ice. I chose 24 Karat as I don’t really go for icey highlighters and prefer gold tones as they flatter my warm, medium-toned skin. I bought mine from Beauty Bay for £35 (£5.80 per palette which is good value!).
The packaging is gorgeous as usual! There are two existing shades (King Tut and Dark Horse) and four new shades. The shades are:
- Sarcophagus – Pale pink.
- King Tut – Light brown.
- Dark Horse – Medium brown.
- Legendary – Salmon pink.
- Giza – A purple toned brown.
- Liberace – Yellow gold.

I felt like the only shade I couldn’t use was Dark Horse, as it’s too dark on my skin. However, it looks beautiful as an eyeshadow! When finger swatching it- The highlighters felt a little powdery, but when a brush is used on the face it actually performs really well. A little goes a long way, as this is definitely NOT for those who want a natural glow.
For this look I used Dark Horse on the lid, Liberace in the inner corner, Sarcophagus on the nose and cupid’s bow, King Tut on my cheek bones, Legendary as a blush topper, and Giza on my lips.
Great review! Thank you for the shade descriptions, your explanation is very helpful. There are no shade descriptions on his web site (strange) and Jeffree just came out with Sarcophagus As a single highlighter (also no shade description) since it was highly requested. I was thinking I might purchase it but after reading your review I feel like it makes more sense to buy the palette for $8 more and 5 extra shades. I love the way you used all the colors on your face, it’s a beautiful look ❤️
